Qualification   
  • Minimum of five years’ experience leading a prayer ministry/department
  • A Bachelor’s degree or qualification equivalent of level 6

Responsibilities   
  • Oversee and lead the prayer department and the congregation in developing a prayer ministry
  • Organise, schedule and provide general leadership for the church's prayer ministry and activities.
  • Ensure that prayer is encouraged, engaged and integrated into every department of the church.
  • Lead the congregation in prayers, praise and worship
  • Plan and organise special prayer services and programmes for the church (prayer meetings, intercessory prayers, all night prayer vigils etc.)
  • Perform pastoral care duties in accordance with our constitution
  • Prepare and deliver sermons and deputise for the Senior Pastor when required
  • Work as a team with the Senior Pastor and other Pastors and leaders in growing the ministry
Requirements for the role   
  • Must be a born-again Christian, believe in Jesus Christ as the only begotten son of God, the Holy Spirit and the Holy bible as the word of God
  • Must have a personal relationship with God and believe in the significance of prayer
  • Must have compassion for the church, its members, the community and nations of the world
  • Must have love and respect for people
  • Active, daily, personal devotional life
  • Open to the move and voice of God
  • An active, committed Pentecostal Christian
  • Public speaking skills
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English Language
  • Ability to lead church services
Experience   
  • Experience of leading a prayer ministry such that the entire church ministries are developed
  • Experience of planning and organising special prayer services and programmes for the church (prayer meetings, intercessory prayers, all night prayer vigils etc.) is desirable
  • Experience of working proactively alone and within a team with no supervision
  • Experience of working within an ethnically diversify environment, and understanding the challenges of Christians in a black minority environment
  • Experience of teaching and leading congregational prayers in an ethnically diverse congregation is desirable
