Qualification
- Training under a skilled drummer or traditional musical leader is an advantage
- A Bachelor’s degree or qualification equivalent of level 6
Responsibilities
- Play the talking drum during worship services, revivals, and special events
- Support praise and worship sessions with traditional Yoruba rhythms
- Coordinate with the choir and instrumentalists to enhance musical flow
- Bring spiritual sensitivity and energy to worship through drumming
- Maintain the talking drum and ensure it's tuned and ready for use
- Participate in rehearsals and collaborate with the music team
Requirements for the role
- Proficient in traditional talking drum techniques, especially for gospel settings
- Good sense of timing, rhythm, and sound coordination
- Ability to adapt drumming to various worship moods and tempos
- Respect for the spiritual atmosphere of worship
- Team player with good communication and collaboration skills
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience playing the talking drum in a church or gospel music setting
- Experience supporting live worship or traditional praise sessions
- Familiarity with Celestial Church musical flow is an advantage
